A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

The three Ps will be Jed Donoghue’s emphasis as coach of Victory League club Tilford Zebras in 2014.

‘Possession, passing, pressure on the ball’ is the mantra that Donoghue, 55, will be insisting on in his first top-flight Victory League gig after 15 years in all at South Hobart.

Robert Biggar, the former Caledonians, White Eagles and St Mirren Lindisfarne defender, passed away in Hobart on Saturday at the age of 64.

He was the father of Metro goalkeeper, Neil Biggar.

Grant Nutting is the new president of Southern Premier League club New Town Eagles.

He replaces Bill Shackcloth after an election at yesterday’s AGM.

Jed Donoghue is the new coach of Victory League club Tilford Zebras.

Donoghue had been assistant coach and technical director at Victory League champions South Hobart.

The Tasmanian women’s side will have one more training session before facing the Victorian All-Stars at KGV Park at 1pm on Sunday.

Football Federation Tasmania’s technical director, former Manchester City defender Spencer Prior, will conduct the training session at KGV Park at 10.30am tomorrow.

New Launceston City coach, Kurt Reynolds, is determined to turn the Victory League club’s fortunes around.

City finished last in 2013, but Reynolds will start pre-season training on Tuesday, 5 November 2013, in what the club describes as ‘aggressive pre-season program’.
