Nick Hill’s time with Kingborough Lions United’s Victory League team is over.

Hill was sent off on Saturday in the 4-1 win over Launceston City.

Kingborough Lions United issued the following statement this evening:

“Kingborough Lions United Football Club have released Nicholas Hill from their Victory League squad.

“Hill was sent off on the weekend for violent conduct and received a 2-match ban with a further week for failing to leave the field directly.

“Hill’s on field conduct had been reviewed earlier in the season after an incident at Lightwood Park which was deemed disrespectful towards the club and team mates.

“The weekend’s post red card actions were a contradiction to the terms agreed upon at that meeting by all parties.

“Whilst Hill has demonstrated excellent skills within the team structure this season the incidents which have occurred have been outside what the club deems to be acceptable.

“The Lions wish Hill all the best for the remainder of his time in Tasmania.

“His replacement in the 20-man squad will be named before the approaching deadline.”

had Kingbrough not had the opportunity to bring in a new player, Hill would have had stayed. I really dont think his behaviour was the reason, more the fact with his suspension they are down 1 player from the 20 - we are not idiots

Really? Then maybe you need to get your facts right because you are doing a great imitation of being an idiot.

If the player was suspended (but was then dropped from the squad), the player coming in would have to serve the suspension time. Comprende?

Surely you don't really think that. That is a bizarre statement to make. Suspensions are personal. They are not carried by the team or any other individual in it.

Marchioli sent off twice this year and captain - any sanctions there?

Decent point - I'd expect an internal fine for each send off

ITS ABOUT THE WAY HE WAS SENT OFF HILL BROUGHT THE CLUB INTO DISREPUTE AND MARCHIOLI WHILE STILL SENT OFF DID IN NO WAY ACT LIKE HILL DID. ALSO THERE'S PROBABLY A LOT MORE BEHIND THE SCENES THAN WE KNOW OMG SOME PEOPLE

So I'm assuming Hill will pop up at Beachside then?

Awesome mate. Beachside have 9 wins from 9 games. Excellent goals for/against ratio. Don't be a hater.

If you want to see another tough league with skilled league go a try and State1/State2/State3 league in any other state in the country.

The point is, its not a tough league. Its the softest league in the world, apart from Beachside. different person from before and not a hater. full credit to your team for getting max points and playing to your strengths. Just think you might be getting ahead of your selves.
In a better league, your pace/ intensity for 90mins would be a massive downfall and your skill level would be tested much more.

Chell has been sent off on both occassions for two yellow cards. He left the field and served his time. He plays for the badge. Hill gets subbed, throws the strip on the ground, gets sent off (for violent conduct - who was the last player to be sent off for that from Kingo?) and then meanders off, plays with the laces, socks etc. Perhpas the attitude and lack of poise is the difference.

yeah I get the circumstances are different but if you're captain of the club and you're already on a yellow, don't be dumb enough to lip off and get yourself another banana.

And don't do it all over again a few games on.

Firstly I am not defending anyone or their actions, but if you feel that strongly about the matter shouldn't you put your name to your post.

Anon #24 the only poor thing was Hill's behaviour! He was given a red for his reaction to an incident, but what followed was discraceful!
Hill let down his team mates, the coaching staff, the committee and the Kingborough supporters. His departure from the field could be likened to that of a child.
