A teacher by profession, but is now in his 38th year as a football writer. Has written for "Soccer Action" (Melbourne), "Australian Soccer Weekly" (Sydney) and "World Soccer" (London), as well as for several Tasmanian newspapers. Currently contributing to "Goal!Weekly" in Melbourne and the Australian magazine "Soccer International". Played for Croatia-Glenorchy, Caledonians, Metro, Rapid and University in Tasmania, as well as in the United States of America. Coached University, Metro and Croatia-Glenorchy.

Olympia Warriors have lost the services of their Mexican striker-cum midfielder Eduardo Garza Cabello for the season.

Cabello broke an ankle in a tackle after just a quarter of an hour of last night’s Milan Lakoseljac Memorial Trophy semi-final against Glenorchy Knights, which Olympia won 1-0.

The battle at the top of the Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League continues this weekend with leaders Beachside and second-placed Taroona both facing tough opponents.

Beachside visit Olinda Grove on Sunday to take on 9th-placed University at 2.30pm, while Taroona entertain 4th-ranked Kingborough Lions United at Kelvedon Park at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Olympia Warriors will be without some key players when they face South Hobart at South Hobart Oval at 2pm tomorrow in a top-of-the-table Victory League clash.

The Warriors lead second-placed South Hobart by 2 points and there is a lot riding on the outcome of this game.
